TRANSFER ADMISSION GUARANTEE TIPS

When to write a TAG:
  • UCI will accept TAGs September 1 - 30.
  • Students must also submit the UC admissions application by December 2.

TAG Not Available for the Following Major: Art Studio

UC Riverside Eligibility Criteria:
  • Earn the minimum required GPA for your intended major by the end of summer 2024:
    • College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS)
      • 3.3 for Psychology plus major preparation
      • 3.3 for Theater, Film, and Digital Production
      • 2.8 for all other majors
    • School of Education (SOE): 2.7 
    • School of Public Policy: 2.7
    • Bourns College of Engineering (BCOE)
      • Mechanical Engineering: 3.1 plus major preparation
      • Computer Engineering: 3.3 plus major preparation
      • Computer Science w/ Business Applications: 3.3 plus major preparation
      • Computer Science: 3.6 plus major preparation
      • All other majors: 3.0 plus major preparation
    • College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS): 2.8 plus major preparation
    • School of Business (SB): 2.8 plus major preparation. Completion of IGETC highly recommended.
  • Selective majors that require major preparation: lower-division major preparation must be completed. To check these requirements, visit the UC Riverside Majors Preparation Guide and www.assist.org.
TAGs NOT available for:
  • Students who have baccalaureate degrees.
  • Students attending high school in fall 2024, even if simultaneously enrolled at a CCC.
  • Former UC students who left UC not in good academic standing.
  • Former UC Riverside students except for students enrolled only in summer sessions.
  • Students who exceed 80 semester total UC-transferable units, after applying lower-division limits (students with only CCC coursework and AP/IB/A level credits will not exceed this limit).

MORE TIPS:

  • PE Activity (KAD) courses - 4 units will transfer and the grades for the best 4 units can be used. Most KAD courses are considered PE Activity courses.
    • Some ATHL courses are also considered PE Activity courses and are subject to the same limits; others are considered Theory and subject to higher limits. There are no limitations on the number of units for DANCE courses
  • Transferable courses from all colleges attended must be used to determine the UC transfer GPA
